MyHoneyDo

Your home, your information

Privacy Policy

MyHoneyDo is built for two people sharing a home. This policy explains what information the service needs, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Effective August 17, 2026

1. Who we are

This policy applies to MyHoneyDo at myhoneydo.app (the “Service”). In this policy, “MyHoneyDo,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@myhoneydo.app.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information reasonably needed to run the Service:

  • Account information: your email address, account identifier, and display name.
  • Household information: your household name, household timezone, membership, and invitation records.
  • Honey Do content: titles, optional details, who created and is assigned to an item, its status, and relevant dates and times.
  • Authentication and technical information: sign-in sessions, one-time-code delivery events, IP address, browser or device information, and security or diagnostic logs that our infrastructure providers may process when you use the Service.
  • Messages to us: information you choose to include if you contact us for support or about privacy.

Please do not put passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, detailed medical information, or other highly sensitive information in a Honey Do.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure your account and send one-time sign-in codes;
  • connect you with your invited partner and show your shared household;
  • create, assign, update, complete, and synchronize Honey Dos;
  • operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the Service;
  • respond to questions, privacy requests, and legal obligations; and
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

We do not sell personal information or use Honey Do content for advertising.

4. What your partner can see

MyHoneyDo is a shared-home service. Your active household partner can see your display name and the Honey Dos in your household, including their details, creator, assignee, status, and timing. Your sign-in email is used for your account and is not displayed to your partner by the current Service.

Treat an invitation link like a private key: share it only with the person you intend to invite. A household is limited to two active members.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We use a small number of providers to operate MyHoneyDo:

  • Supabase provides authentication, database storage, security rules, and real-time synchronization.
  • Vercel hosts and delivers the website.
  • Resend delivers transactional email, including sign-in codes.

These providers process information for their infrastructure functions under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the Service or a person’s safety or rights, with your consent, or as part of a business transfer where appropriate safeguards apply.

6. Browser storage and tracking

The Service uses browser storage and similar essential technology to keep you signed in, remember your light or dark theme, and make the app usable when your connection is interrupted. On a device where you sign in, the browser may keep a local copy of your household profile and Honey Dos, plus changes waiting to synchronize. Each local copy and queued change is scoped to the account that created it. The app checks the active account again before sending a queued change. When you sign out, the app asks the browser to remove that account’s local snapshot and queued changes from the device. If changes are still waiting, you will be warned that signing out will discard them before they reach the Service.

Browser storage is best-effort unless the browser grants persistent storage, and it can be removed because of storage pressure, inactivity, browser settings, or a choice to clear site data. MyHoneyDo requests persistent storage where supported and shows its current storage status in the account menu, but no browser can make unsynchronized changes loss-proof. Reconnect and let important changes finish synchronizing before relying on them elsewhere.

As of the effective date, we do not use advertising trackers or third-party behavioural analytics in the Service. If that changes, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account, household, and Honey Do information while it is needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Service. A Honey Do’s creator can delete it in the app. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account or other personal information, email hello@myhoneydo.app.

We will verify requests and respond as required by applicable law. Information may remain temporarily in restricted backups, security logs, or records that we must keep by law before it is deleted or de-identified.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including passwordless authentication and database access controls that restrict household data to active members. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or invitation link has been misused.

9. International processing

Our service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Information processed outside your province or country may be subject to the laws and lawful access rules of that jurisdiction.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what personal information we hold, request access or correction, withdraw consent where applicable, request deletion, or challenge how we handle your information. Some information is needed to operate an account; withdrawing consent may mean you can no longer use the Service.

Start with hello@myhoneydo.app. You may also have the right to contact your local privacy regulator.

11. Age requirement

MyHoneyDo is not directed to children. You must be at least the age of majority where you live to create an account. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
